You’re on the Holiday home stretch!
And you probably still have some shopping, wrapping, cooking, mailing, and lots of friends and family socializing to do before this elaborate and fun season is over. Most of my friends and patients tell me these things are fun. They’ve gotten to the point where the holiday season isn’t really “stressful.” But stress isn’t limited to our emotional feeling about something.
The most stress we encounter during the holiday season might surprise you….
Eating too much, drinking too much, and staying up too late. Sound familiar?
It’s kinda crazy to wrap our heads around the fact that those things, those seemingly fun parts of the holiday season are actually stressful to our bodies! And here’s what that means – those types of stress also negatively impact your health.
Double down on your awareness of negative stressors so you can make choices to have a healthy season:
Emotionally, of course
Physically, i.e. staying up too late, not getting enough quality sleep
Biochemically, i.e. eating and drinking too much (especially sugar!)
We all know that feeling crummy isn’t any fun.
You have the power to make choices that sway the health of your body to either side of the pendulum. Here’s a reminder about some immune-boosting tips.
