I read an interesting article this weekend about TIME.
The piece that hit home was how “getting things done” can get in the way of opportunities to connect and soak in the moment.
The author spoke about her experience with life-efficiency being more important than her connections with people. She was so focused on checking things off her to-do list that she didn’t even stop to consider stopping to connect spontaneously.
She subconsciously put a higher priority on her productivity.
The article hit home for me,
especially because I am a list writer and to-do checker-offer.
My word for this year is Connect. I was opened to the idea that in my efforts to be efficient and productive, I too have missed opportunities to connect… and that’s my focus! How crazy!
Now, my awareness to look for opportunities to connect has been expanded.
I will make a bigger, more conscious effort to actively choose human connection when the moment presents itself.
I hope you will too.
