What's Before You?

I finished a great book recently, The Art of Racing in the Rain.

Enzo, a golden retriever, tells the story of his life and his relationship with his “dad” an amateur race car driver.  A fun, insightful, and emotional read. (Dog books are always emotional!)

Here’s one line that stuck with me:

You manifest that which is before you.

I had never heard it put that way before.  In the couple weeks since finishing the book, that line rolls over and over in my brain daily.  You manifest that which is before you.

In other words,

What you think about, You bring about.

Where your thoughts go, your energy goes, and you get more of that in your life.

Often, when you’re trying to get rid of or get away from something, such as pain, extra weight, situations or people, you spend time (a little or a lot) dwelling on how you don’t want that in your life anymore.  And you can’t figure out why it won’t go away, why it lingers around and clings to you.  Guess what?!  You’re bringing this into your life because you’re spending time and energy thinking or dwelling on it.  You are manifesting that which is before you.

Instead, focus your energy and thoughts on what you DO want.

  • A good night’s sleep.

  • Relationships with quality people.

  • Energy to sustain you throughout the day.

If you don’t like what is showing up in your life, start figuring out what you’re doing to manifest that so you can make changes.  On the flip side, if you do like what is showing up in your life, spend time being grateful for that so you can manifest more of it.

This, all of this, influences the fact that you manifest that which is before you.

You have more power than you can imagine!!  Start tapping into it.  You deserve it.
