Spring is springing. And that often means Spring Cleaning.
Have you ever thought about Spring Cleaning your mind? That will definitely mean different things to different people and, yes, some people will need to get their mind out of the gutter even now.
However, what I’m specifically talking about is the thoughts and words you use to speak to yourself, the self-talk. We all suffer from some level of “beating ourselves up” with the words we use to shame, discourage, or blame ourselves.
Our self-talk is the most prominent and powerful speech we hear. The story we make up in our head about any and every situation is our conscious and subconscious mind creating our reality. So my heady challenge to you today is this:
What would happen if you were just 5% nicer to yourself today?
When you’re 5% nicer to yourself, how does that impact your relationship with your spouse or partner?
When you’re 5% nicer to yourself, how does that impact your relationship with your kids?
When you’re 5% nicer to yourself, how does that change your stress level?
Food for thought. I hope you’ll take the opportunity to do some mental spring cleaning and see what changes you notice when you’re just 5% nicer to yourself.
