Perspective is an amazing thing.
Sometimes, I grumble about having to take Langley for a walk…
every night so she can do her business. Then I see the neighbor walk their old, very sick, emaciated dog and I’m instantly grateful Langley is healthy, can walk, and 15 minutes every night really isn’t that big of a deal.
We had a lot of trees cut down on our property recently…
to make it ‘fire safe’ (to the degree possible) and increase the health of the forest. For weeks, I was SO sad at all the trees that were cut down. Last week, a friend mentioned how incinerated the forest is off 32 & 36, headed to Lake Almanor. Instantly, I was no longer sad at the lost trees but instead absolutely grateful our property and remaining trees are ‘fire safe-r’.
Last week, I ran into a friend of mine…
who usually has lots of abounding energy and positivity. She looked beat down. Life and work were hard. I was so bummed for her. And it reminded me that Life is Good.
We get to choose our thoughts and that includes our perspective on situations.
We can get stuck in the daily grind and forget to lift our head up and look around. When we do, we’ll see the good and the not so good. And I would bet that for many of you, Life is Good.
So, when you’re feeling grumpy at your chores or your life…
I often find that a quick “perspective check” changes my entire outlook and sometimes my day! Today, take a perspective check when you find yourself grumbling. You’ll probably find life is better than you’re making it out to be.
