Last week, I had a thought-provoking conversation about laundry.
Yes – ‘laundry’ was thought-provoking! It was spurred by the concept of Pluck It.
Laundry feels like a never-ending chore.
Once I finally feel caught up, it’s time to start over. Ugh, right?!
My friend tries to be grateful for the ‘chore’ of doing laundry.
I had never consciously thought about how grateful I am to do laundry. Even in this moment I’m teary at how grateful I am to have sheets, towels, and rags to wash. How grateful I am to have more than one set of clothing to wash. In fact, like you, I have enough clothes to wear clean ones every day AND I can throw them into the laundry pile and wait a week before washing them. Even my dog has laundry to wash – dog beds, sweaters, etc.
Sooo much laundry. Such a big chore. Sooooooo much to be grateful for.
This morning I paused for 5 seconds of gratitude.
As I started a load of towels in the washer, I stopped for 5 seconds to express gratitude not only for the towels, but also for the ability to have the chore called laundry.
I look forward to expanding my awareness and my gratitude this week over the mundane, the chores.
I hope you find gratitude in your chores also. We are ALL so blessed. And we deserve it.
With love and inspiration,
Dr. Michelle
